    Smile Steering rack change

Last night I heard a strange noise from the passenger side and suddenly the steering went tight, I assumed I had a burst tyre, how ever after stopping to investigate found nothing, I decided to drive home albeit as carfully as one could. A later investigation found a large leak from the steering rack. Tonight I have disconnected the rack from car and just before I started to remove the heavens opened up, so the job did not get finished. Question I am asking is after all the usual bits are removed, ie track rods discon, pipes discon & the large bolts holding it to the car, does it come out easily, or is there other stuff I have to do, one post touched on dropping the sub frame ??, mine is a 2003, with the resevoir in the drivers wing.

    All help most appreciated

Just drop the back 4 subby bolts then half undo the front 2 and lower the back end a foot or so. Comes out dead easy then via drivers side.
