    Default Cooling Fans

I have a 56 plate 1.9 cdti Signum with Air con, my question is there are 2 cooling fans on the rad is one conected to the air con system or just a boost fan for cooling the rad??

The reason I ask is the right hand one as you are looking at the front of the car is running constant even when I turn the engine off, I have to remove the fuse to stop it. Just wondering is this air con related or coooling related.

    Thanks for any info.

You answered your own question lol. Ones air con and ones a cooling fan.

Could be the main cooling fan having an issue with the tempt switch and staying on perm ?

Cant remember which is which but never heard of the air con fan staying on where as the cooling fan is pretty common.

If the temperature sensor goes open circuit or disconnected the fans will come on as a safety feature. Also if the control module installed on the radiator fan housing dies the same will happen. Is the wire on the sensor on the thermostat ok and check the wiring on the rad itself.

You could try find a friend with same car and swap out the control module to see what happens ?

OK Thanks for replies Gav, I was thinking and hoping (cheap fix) it was the temp sensor but after today I'm confident its not i've had the spark at work today do his stuff with it and he's 99% sure its working also the gauge on the dash is reading ok and i'm thinking the same sensor sends the signal to the temp gauge also which would rule it out. After searching other similar threads I'm leaning towards the control module on the back of the fan, I have a mate with an astra same engine so might twist his arm!!

    Cheers again for your help.
