Bit of LED work today

Started at work changing the GID from yellow to white.

I soon discovered that the how2 for the GID was for a full can vectra and not half can like mine. DOH.

so off home i came and woke up eager to go..

Firstly, i'd Just like to say big thanks to Ian-Highlander for coming to rescue and confirming the led positions on the board.

After about 4 hours of pain staking soldering, on and off, i finally managed to get all sorted. Note the small repair haha.

TIP for anyone thinking of doing their GID anytime soon.
Use 0603 led's and not 0805's. 0805's are a pain in the arse to get in position..

Just the dash left to do now. cant be as hard as the GID, can it??

Also took time out to do the boot led strips whilst i had the soldering iron out.

Good job lad. Doing a bit myself but no pics til it's all done which might be some time next year lol. Your finished screen looks a bit dark on the right but all are working on the board?

yeah, funny you say that, thought that myself. Might whip it off tomorrow to make sure i didn't dislodge anything whilst putting it all back together..

Niall. Just an update on the vxr rear diffuser. My local dealer gone belly up. Spoke to another crowd near me, and got them down from 95 to 75, so went with that. It's off getting sprayed at the minute. Should have it back tomorrow or Thursday.

No bother lad. That works out nearly the same when you convert to euros and add postage. Be sure to get the pics up when it's all fitted.

Will do. Exhaust is on. Diffuser back from spray today hopefully. Saying that, weather absolutely terrible down here this morning.
