    Default EGR Info Please

Car was hesitating a bit on the 1500 to 2000 rev range, changed the EGR about four months ago, after that was still getting little judders so was advised to get the software update of the Stealers which i did, that never cured it either.
Done all the checks on the pipes and cleaned the boost sensor, still getting a judder.
to be honest as am a Taxi- Driver i have just lived with it,Today i have just been out and unplugged the EGR,took it for a little run and so far no Judder.
I did expect the emissions light to come on or something, but so far it hasn't,it goes out when the Engine starts.
I am thinking of running it round with it off for a while, but was wondering will it do any Damage to anything else.
Car is a 2007 cdti 120 vec design Hatch with no DPF.Also why havn't i got any emissins light on ?.
Thank you to anyone who can answer this question for me.

Funnily enough I did exactly the same thing on my cdti 120 last night! (also used as a cab) Un-plugged the EGR and noticed it drove a little smoother but no light came up. Drove it for about 40 miles, switched off to re-fuel and when I re-started the EML was lit. Still drives fine so I'll leave it like that for a while.
I've noticed a few other members leave their EGR unplugged all year till mot time with no known problems.

this has been talked about alot so some of the older members might yawn at this lol but i am a taxi driver also unplugged mine and ran it for 15k all was fine then just before mot cleaned it all out plugged it back in lasted about 2 days then i blanked and been fine ever since lol i have gone with the theory it does reduce engine temp so have blanked and aimed to make mine run cooler in other ways. with the light mine takes a few starts to come on but supposedly some dont throw up an error at all.

Unforunately the eml light on is a failure of the compliance test for taxis in my licencing area.

im not bored of it but have heard other members saying not the EGR again lol, as far as i can tell from the pages and pages of discussion the jury is still out? i personally run my car without it and i can say i have had no issues since doing so. maybe have a read through some of the discussions and go from there.
