    Default Moving BC Functions To Wiper Stalk, Replacing NDCD2013 with non OEM Headunit

    Hi All,
    Hopefully someone can guide me through this modification i want to do, Paul has tried to talk me through it but i'm still struggling, so i thought i'd ask here for more information.

    2004 Signum Pre Facelift 150 CDTI

    I have the NDCD2013 sat nav radio, the GID (Monochrome display in the centre of the dash) and just a normal wiper stalk. I have the 6 button steering wheel, so i believe that means i'm half canbus, and i 'should' have the ISO style blocks behind the NDCD2013 unit.

    What i want to do, is replace the NDCD2013 with a non OEM headunit such as a Pioneer, and then i want to move the BC function to the wiper stalk, with a new wiper stalk.

    So, how do i do it?

    I've read the How To Thread on how to retrofit a NDCD2013 into a car, with the assumption i just do it backwards, but it has completely blown my mind, so confused.

    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info

    I'm in the process of doing this atm. Did ask questions but no one seemed to know anything.
    From what I've found out on the Internet you will have to get a new screen and wiper stalk as the bc functions are done through the radio then tech 2 the wiper stalk to the car.
    The colour screen wont work with the wiper stalk for some reason so that has to be replaced.
    pice bought a fitting kit from eBay as you get the facia, cage and Iso plugs with patch leads for about £70.
    Bit of an expensive thing to change them all over but hopefully worth it in the end.

    You need a screen from a Vectra that has a GID, but doesn't have any of the 'CCR' or 'NC' head units I believe. Kenp is the man in the know. I have a screen from an NCDC in mine but it refuses to work with the Steering wheel controls, only the wiper stalk.

    This is not sounding good, I was under the impression you could do it without replacing the screen if your car only has GID.

    Paul if you can sort it out without needing a screen change there may be a job coming your way ha-ha

    Lol u have a gid mate just devorce it and do a little wiring job done easy

    It's something to do with the cars are half can but the ncdc range worked as full can??
    ive found people that have tried but tech 2 can't connect the two together due to it needing the ncdc to operate bc functions.
    This hasnt been the best few weeks for me trying to work it all out plus having no radio in the car....lol



    Thinking about it I think mines a CID. (the colour one)....god knows im lost with it all now.

    Only saying what I've had to find out mate.
    The car is half but found people that have tried were saying that this range ran like an full can would due to it being paired and working as a single unit. ?
    Like said its only what ive came across.

    Quick look and found .........


    I thought the NCDC unit was a can bus set up in a half can bus format if that makes sense to anyone...



    The CANbus bit, is only where the Display is linked to the Head-unit via the mid-speed CAN.
    Other than that, the head-unit uses little in the way of CAN communication
    The Vectra-C display does all the CAN communication with the car.
    In the Omega, the display has no other CAN function.

    The NCDC and NCDR headunits are a strange hybrid between KWP protocol and half CAN protocol

    KWP protocol for lighting and ignition logic (status) and standard pin 7 diagnostics.

    Mid speed CAN for comms with the Display .
    And in-turn it uses the display to use SW CAN diagnostic and BC comms via the BCM, IPC etc.
