    Default timing belt kit CDTi

    Hi all,

Anyone had a garage do the full swap of late, water pump tensioners and belt?

I am getting quotes and wonder what sort of labour will be charged.

I have some warranty work being done at E.H. and plan to ask them, also my own local garage (who I favour if honest to do a decent job)

Be keen to hear the answer to this, my new CDTi will need this doing (to be on the safe side) and would like to know rough prices before I ask about.

There is a how to on here on how to do it. I'm not too bad with spanners normally working on 12 cylinder diesels and rolls royce gas turbines but the guide is spot on and so simple to follow anyone can do it. will save you a fortune. Cambelt kit, tensioner and water pump for just over £100 with trade card

I do my own - but if you want it doing with genuine GM parts - why not use Masterfit fixed prices http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/owners_ser...e-repairs.html £249 for belt and kit and will do the waterpump at the same time if you speak to them

I got mine changed via Masterfit last Thursday. £249 for timing belt inc labour, only have to pay for water pump then (no extra labour). £316 all in.

I would usually attempt this myself as it is a tricky but quite straightforward job, however I start a new job Monday and have only a few hours spare in each day left and I have opted for the easy option on this.

I have a quote of £290 for timing belt, tensioners waterpump and serpentine belt all fitted! Sounds decent, however at 69K miles do I do it now or do I risk it to 80K?????
