    Default Boot light problem

Hi, this is my first post - so hope you can help.

This seems such a minor problem that I'm loathed to take the car to the dealer to just have this corrected even though its under warranty. But the light in the boot does not work and its so annoying especially if looking for something in the boot in a poorly lit street/carpark! The bulb works fine as I've tried it in the glove box light, and the connections seem ok

Is this light covered by a particular fuse (cant find a ref in the hand book) Cant even find a switch on the hatchback that conrols the switching on and off of the light so presume its controled by the hatch lock?

    Help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

    Ps Great Forum!

have you tried putting a volt meter on the plug to the light fitting and see if you get any volts. could be the fitting it self.

Don't forget the light powers down after a set time,so do your testing as soon as you open the boot.

if there is no 12v feed to the light with the boot open, then try triggering the boot lock, to see if it gives the light any power..is that the only electrical thing that is failing to work in the boot area..

the system picks up it's power from the rear body electrical centre, located in the passengers side of the boot compartment..check all the multiplugs are in place and secure..

there is no fuse to this system on the wiring diagram...but have a look at the fuse's located within the rear electrical system to see if any have blown....
