If you get a unit that is unpaired from its head unit or get the car pass for the doner car then its straight forward as it will need Tech 2'ing in make sure you get one for the facelift i.e. one that is for CDC series the earlier ones won't work I believe, as for getting hold of one it might be easier to buy a complete CDC70 set up and selling on the HU and your old display as they don't come up that often.

Not on the CDC range unles you have a divorced display or car pass, the displays are paired to the HU if you put both in it is a straight swap or if you have a half can one but that doesn't work with the CDC range

it is plug and play i want to do this however with last min deployments cropping up im unable to do this but it is a stright swap but you will need the smaller air vents as the screen is slightly wider

So explain how the car pass system works then the displays are coded with the HU to each other and need to be divorced or put in as a pair the half can just swap over be interested if this not the case but I don't actually believe it does.

Big Red. I have a screen with the appropriate vents for sale. Drop me a pm if you want to discuss a price?

It will be plug and play with a full can vec and aftermarket unit.

The pairing system works because it is to deter the hu from being stolen. Assuming no-one will steal the screen as well. So the process stops the hu being added to another screen with the coding system lying within the hu rather than the screen. So when you add an after market unit there is no coding issue.
