    Default Works Christmas Parties

..... Went on a works night out in Manchster last week (with 16 managers), the booze was flowing and the cocktails were like fire water .....

I don't usually drink much and I was absolutely sozzled at the end of the night, I persuaded my wife to drive 25 miles to pick me up at 1230am and I was in a right state by all accounts.

Problem now is that I can't remember the last hour or so of the night out, I think some of the guys were winding me up and I do not know what happened.

I won't see most of them until Jan 2/3 and now I am worried i may have said or even done something stupid that may come back to haunt me next week at work.

I'm really trying to remember but can only remember snippets.

I've just found the bosses home phone number in Phone Book and was thinking of giving him a ring to ask what went on ... but now am a little worried.

    What should I do?

(I've poured about 7 litres of spirits down the drain just before Christmas)

I wouldn't worry about it m8. They were probably as drunk as you as well so they won't remember anything either

Even if they weren't, what happens on a xmas do should stay there

    Thanks Caterman,

The company I work for are quite 'black and white', there were others there who were very drunk too.

I hope I am just being too paranoid about the possible consequences ....

You will not be the only one to get blind drunk at a works do, It happens all the time, it would be a poor do if people did not get plastered, as Catermas says what happened that night will stay there, so I would not worry to much, it is also good fun for your mates to wind you up as they know you would not be able to remember what went on towards the end of the night, in any case you can always say you do not remember, if by any chance you did say the wrong thing to anyone. So don,t worry and enjoy the new year.

I have made a tit of myself once too often at works nights out, I don`t go to them now .. But usually when you are drunk as a skunk you still have enough sense not to do anything toooo stupid, everyone will be feeling the same and will have forgotten about it before you all go back, don`t let it spoil your new year by worrying about it, nothing you can do now anyhoo except have a laugh about it ..

a works do is a time to let your your hair down one of our do's a few years ago in the adelphi hotel saw one of the guys drop his trousers and start waving his pe**s at the wife of one of the Guinness family (I work for Guinness) saying "do you want some of this" as per usual with these things the guy was then promoted and is now my shift manager. So I would not worry too much about your works do!!

What ever you do don't mention the party night out first . Your work m8's will pick up on this and make your life hell.

It's not worth worrying about it will be someone else's turn next year... Thats the problem with drink it helps you forget when you don't want too.
