    Default Boot again sorry

my boot can not stop needing to be slammed shut (better with window open) and creaking When I corner or drive over speed humps slowly it creaks. Adjusted the slam plate but the more I adjust to stop the noise the harder it gets to shut, also this is gonna wake the whole close up and the misses struggles to slam it that hard. I have new rubber stoppers but don't seem to help. My Vectra B sri facelift had a hatch that shut if dropped from 2 inches and never made a creak.

Should I put the slam plate back to centre and keep adjusting the rubber bung things, its aso etting to the point that the boot is hard to open as its sticking as so far adjusted

I know this has been on here before but..

That's what I was going to suggest - meet up somewhere. I've fixed my rattling Signum tailgate in the past as well as somebody else's Vectra boot.

I'm up in the NE at the moment but back for the weekend if that's any use? Can you live with it/have a further twiddle until then?

Your a star, yes I can live with it until then but may I ask what you did. Adjust the slam plate to centre and adjust the bungs or adjust both etc.

    Cheers

I still have my Vec B (well the wife does) and I agree the Vec B closes from 3-4" though my Vec C needs a good slam from 18-24". It won't shut even with a push.

A step by step guide would hlep - please.

My neighbours aren't too happy with me setting off at 05:30 most Sunday mornings after loading up the boot with my fishing/casting gear

Predominantly adjusting the slam plate. Starting off with it centred, then adjusting to see which way stops the rattle but still lets the boot close and not have the boot open dash light on.
