    Default Engine Fitting Cost

    Hi

Does anyone know the rough labor cost to fit an engine (Vauxhall Vectra Auto 2.2). That is taking the old one out, stripping the auxiliaries off and putting them onto the new engine and then putting that engine in. I know there are some parts that I might have to buy but does anyone have a rough idea of the labor cost?

    Thanks

I'd say looking at around 2 full days of labour.

    So id say roughly 700

I'd say about the same 12-16 hours @ £50ish ph plus consumables. So £600-800ish but make sure the prices you get include VAT as at 20% it adds a lot on the bill.

What wrong with the old engine ?

You guys are mental or like being ripped off lol. I would do it for 200 notes if you where near.

It take a decent mechanic 4 hours max to do on a ramp. 1 hour to remove old one and 2 for fitting old one the one hour to ensure all working.

1 hour to remove on your own?!

Do you work in a scrap yard with a gas cutter?

Not doubting you but even a basic landrover engine takes roughly that to lift an that's 2 of us who have done it shed loads of times. And they haven't got a 10th of the amount of electrics that vec has
