Default My G/F's Driving Licence ( Or Not )

In about 2001 , my g/f passed her driving test in Blyth .

But ( stupidly ) never sent away the form to have a full licence sent back to her .

Apparently ( in 2001 ) she thought she had 3 years to send the Provisional licence away .

So three years came and went and she thought she was now WITHOUT any sort of licence .

So , back to now in 2012 and she applies for a new provisional by internet

and she receives an email saying something along the lines of ...

" We have an issue with your application for a provisional as you ALREADY have a driving licence . Has your licence been revoked or lost ? "

Our question is .............. Is the so called " driving licence " they claim she has ,

Is it a provisional , because she never sent away the Pass certificate ,

or has she really had a Full licence all these years and could have had the freedom of the open road .

Thanks for any replies or opinions .

Sounds like she is on the system as a passed driver. Just tell them you have lost the driving certificate and they will replace it while charging you a fee lol

She needs to apply for a new full licence - if you include a letter explaining the full circumstances they will be ok - a friend of mine is a driving instructor and she says that the examiner sends his copy of the pass certificate to DVLA and your records are updated on their computer regardless of what the driver does. At the end of the day she passed her driving test and no one can take that away from her.

I agree, the examiner gives you the info on the timescale to apply for it and gives you the frightener that if you dont you need to resit your test. I wouldn't be so sure of it just getting handed to her. They updated my license and sent it back to me, a month later they realised they made a mistake on it and sent me a letter giving me 2 weeks to return it to them or they would revoke my license!
