    Default Throttle Body EGR thread rounded... Help!

    Ok, hoping this isnt going to be as extreme as needing a new throttle body... sooooo....

    I took of the EGR valve today to give it a clean, came off no problems, gave it a clean which it really needed by the looks of it!

    So, putting it back on, went well until the final bolt, goes in turns fine, then grips, give it a slight pull to lock it up... and SNAP!

    The bolt grips then eventually just spins! Its not the bolt as I can see the thread is good on that, its the hole in the throttle body...

    Any advice??

    Tried running the car with just the one bolt, but when you press the accelerator it struggles to rev, so guessing that it is leaking fumes.

    Probs will need a new one or you can try rethreading it or even drilling through and putting longer bolt and nut on back.
    Or even some gasket sealer round it then loads of loctite on then tighten slightl. Hope you sort it.

    Well, I started her up again, I've tightened the bolt up to the point it bits and no further...

    The initial lumpy engine when pressing the accelerator has gone, guess it was probably just the carb cleaner burning off...

    I've looked on the Ebay and a 2nd hand unit is only (I say only... like I'm minted! LOL) £50-65 for the Z19DT... so worse case I'll just have to bit the bullet and get a replacement if I have any problems...

    Any other suggestions?

    i would be tempted to try some instant gasket stuff and then tighten the 3 good bolts, it may buy you some more time before you need a new tb?
