    Default detailing by hand

My car could do with detailing it has a few marks around the body that need taking out but as I can't afford a DA I need to know what products to buy to do it by hand.

Main scratches are around the door handles where a previous owner has obviously opened the door whilst holding the keys in the same hand. There's a couple of deep scratches that I now won't come out but hopefully a product will fill them slightly.

So I could do with shopping list of proven products please, unless someone local with a DA fancies making my sapphire black paintwork gleam

Zaino Fusion is pretty good by hand and i also like Meguiars ultimate compound, just make sure you work the product in by hand really well to break it down. If you wanna fill in the defects depending on your colour try Poorboys Blackhole which is a good filler and glaze. Maybe pm happypostie or bobsignum who have aot of knowledge in this area.

    Hope this helps mate

You'd be surprised what you can actually do by hand. I polished a pile of scratches our of Gazza's car with just a MF cloth and Megs #82 and #83 cutting polishes.

I did my old Vectra SRi by hand (over two years ago now - where does the time go) and made a thread on it to show what could be done using off the shelf products by hand...

Hd cleanser is a waste of time. Just clay it. It will do a better job of it, then srp it then hd wax that will keep you happy to start of with
