Hi there. Just want to get some advice about servicing. How offen my vectra must be serviced? just done about 8000 from last service? wanted to change oil by my self together with oil filter and fuel filter. Is it easy or beter go to vauxhall? I dont want to have pockets ripped off;P
I have all the stamps from vx garage should I carry on or go to garage I know which is cheaper Just bought fueal filter but havent changed it yet 'cos of lack of time. Any advice please And one more thing. Light of the car and spanner sterted illuminating but just for 2min after engine start some time in pust week but stoped and is ok now. Just getting confused about all of that. Got alfa 147 before and I'm getting anxious about that kind'a of stuff.

I'd do it myself, easy enough job if you've got the right tools/kit plus you get the satisfaction of doing it yourself....kinda like a 'bonding process'...

Dont know what car you have , but if its an injection engine ( petrol), then changing the fuel filter should involve priming the system first. If petrol and not an injection, then just leave the car stand for half hour before disconnecting the fuel lines on the filter to allow the pressure to diminish..
oil/filter, air filter, and plugs are easy.
Once done reset the Insp on the dash by putting keys in ignition, door open, foot on brake, and press trip reset on odometer.

do it yourself mate, for the price you would pay VX you could add plugs, pollen filter and a new sump plug and still have change.

i havent done the fuel filter but i believe its tricky. If it was done in the last 20,000 miles id leave it alone.

Not entirely true. All you need to do is remove fuel pump fuse, start engine and then wait for the engine to cut out. Remove and replace fuel filter. Put back in the fuse for the fuel pump, then start.

Theres no need to prime the system if its a petrol. The fuel pump will force the petrol through the filter.
