    Default New boy here...

    Hi guys and gals

Perused your site daily for a while now. Though I may be a Vectra driver and lover, I'm afraid that I don't own - I contract hire - company footing the bill. That's why I've not posted before as I can't modify or tweak anything on the car - so didn't think I would be able to give much input! But, after a phonecall today I have a poser - thought you guys might be able to help....

I organise my own company car - and lease direct with Vauxhall and don't want to go away from Vectra. They generally stick me in a new one every six months which is good - new plates etc etc.

    But - phonecall today:

Hi Vauxhall here, do you want to change your car for a new one yet?

Me: OK - but you keep promising me an SRi - so???

Sorry - still cant get them on lease. You can either wait two months and have a facelift one - no SXi - they will be DESIGN spec. OR, four weeks and have a new current shape SXI.

Thing is, I have only seen a few photos so I dont know if I like the new one or not... wouldn't want to get stuck with it if I didn't like it. What would you do?

ONE THING I DID SAY - I don't want another black one!!! I'm a clean car freak and it's been slowly killing me!

So guys advice? Info or pics on new vec?

    Thanks very much in advance.

Welcome to the site R-man. I would go with the facelift choice. It is only the front end that looks any different. There are pictures on the forum somewhere.

    Welcome,

I'd go for a facelift DESIGN Vectra; Design is a good spec.

    Hi guys

Thanks for the response. I think I'm convinced on the new model, the Autocar review pics look better than what I have seen before. The thing that has worried me is going from an SXi to a Design - I see a lot of interior advantages - just worried I will end up with plastic mouldings all over the outside whereas the one I have now is all "skirted". Will keep you posted. Glad I can join the fold even if I am only a leaser of our beloved. As mentioned - I do really like them and have no plans to change - so as you have all been so welcoming I will set up my account properly with some pics etc and join in! I'm generally a car nut anyway so I love to talk about anything with four wheels! Thanks again chaps.

Hey, just 'cos you aren't able to modd your car doesn't mean you aren't able to contribute. All C/Signum owners are welcome m8 and other members can give you advice and vice versa.

Let us know what you get in the end - and pictures!

Will do Duncan. I'll get a piccy of "black thunder" on tomorrow. I'm sure giving your car a name is the thing of the past - but have done it with all mine! Mind you, as I said before I just can't get another black one - it's such hard work and the time I have spent waxing to wake up the next morning with dust and water marks - arrgghhh!

Quick question - is there anyone on here from Leighton Buzzard? Seen a nice veccy looks slightly modded - anyone taking responsibility? I'll get a pick next time I see it - always in the same place.
