    Question Fans not blowing?

Got in my car this evening to come to work, noticed that the windscreen was steaming up a little bit, so turned the fan up from 2 to 3. Nothing happened. Turned it up to 4, and a force 9 hurricane whipped through the car. Back to 3, nothing again. Turned it off completely, then slowly back through 1, 2, 3, and no fan at all.

Outside temp was 5.5, air con was on, and heater control was set about halfway round.

    Never noticed this before.....any ideas?

Someone fixed this with pics included. Think it was a fuse in the actual fan housing caused by condensation build up. VX cure this by drilling a little hole in bottom of housing after replacing the fuse. Will try and find thread.

"Complaint: Blower motor is running only in high speed, is without function or running when ignition is switched off.
Cause: Condensation water from blower motor accumulates at bottom of blower motor housing ( rust formation etc. ). Resistor is damaged.
Production: As of VIN W0L0ZCF3561069032 (13.01.2006) improved parts have been introduced in produktion.

    Remedy:
In case of customer complaint check resistor and blower motor for water marks or rust. Drill a 4 mm hole at the lowest point of the blower motor housing (brush area) when the blower motor is removed."

This is all I have found at the moment, will keep looking.
