Apparently they destroy your gearbox over time due to the vibration.
i did not thing they would be all that meets the eye
When i took mine to be done in march i got into a conversation with the mechanics and they told me that most of the taxis that come in with nacked flywheels they weld them up solid,i thought he was joking but apparently not and there still going strong,as anybody on here ever heard of this.
not heard of this burt why would he lie
Dad had a solid flywheel fitted to his 307 and its a different car, no issues and has covered plenty of miles. When getting quotes he did ask Peugeot for a price and they said that they no longer fit DMF's, only conversion kits.
I wish I'd of seen this solid kit before I changed my DMF in January this year, I'd of had no problems in buying that over a DMF.
There's plenty of horror stories but most are just that, stories. A lot of people speak highly of solid flywheels who I know, DMF's arn't upto the job.
Why would they not come from the factory with a solid flywheel? If they were meant to have one, would they not come with one?
might be worth thinking about then when i am due for one
