confused Help. Trouble with removing front and rear door cards.

    Hi everyone,

I'm having some trouble trying to remove the door cards. With the rear i got as far the window handle bit and stuck on how to take that off. And with the front i got most of it off and stuck at the bit right at the top (the section in line with the door pin), i tried pulling, and lift up and pulling but don't want to go any further without breaking it.

    Thanks.

If you can wait to the Heritage Centre meet on Saturday I (or many others!) could give you a hand - bit tricky to describe, but I'm sure someone will be able to better than I can!

Finding a route to feed the speaker wire is a nightmare too, not as straight forward as i thought.

lol nope it isn't - fed new wires on Sunday with major assistance from Ian-Highlander (ok, he wired the speakers in and I took the car to pieces and put it back together again and ran the cables down the sides of the car!)

more than willing to help on Saturday if you are still stuck fella

Might want to check out my thread in the ICE forum "So it begins again..." detailed pics and instructions on getting new speaker cables through the doors

As for the door cards, they really are very very stiff indeed if they haven't been off before, as long as you've undone all the screws (three at the bottom and two behind the door handle on the fronts and two at the bottom and two behind the door handles on the rears) and pulled the door cards outwards to pop the clips out that hold them to the door round the edges, it's just a case of brute force and ignorance pulling them straight upwards (but be careful not to lift them too far with that pressure because there's cables connected to them on the inside).

As for the door handles, check my thread in the howtos section for fitting rear electric windows, gives detailed description and pics for doing it

The rear window winder will have a little horse shoe shaped spring clip that needs flicking out. Be careful as they have tendancey to "ping! Oops where did that go"

The door cards are usually stiff bit a stiff wack with hand on bottom will get them back
