    Default Maintainance job

    Hello guys!

I am looking for an advice from you.
Next weekend I plan to do a bit of maintainace for my signum

    I have in plan:
    1) oil change + filters (oil, air, fuel, cabin)
    2) rear shock absorbers
    3) front right suspention arm
    4) clean throttle body.

All the parts are ordered and I will have them this days.
Probably if I would go for a garage I would pay more the 100£ for the work so I am thinking to try and save the money.
Is it worth to go for thw DIY way?
Can you recommend me something for the engine oil (additive or something)?
Is it ok to go with GM oil or should I go for anything else?
    THe engine is Z22YH

    THANKS!

I'm sure a garage would easily charge you more than £100 , if you have the tools required then I see no reason why not, Some great how2s on the forum have a read and see if you have the time and tools to do the job.

You certainly learn allot about cars doing your own maintenance

Service items are simple to do, it helps if you have a little mechanicle knowledge, the lower arm is also quite simple to do but they can be tight.
The main thing is are you confident doing the job and have you got the tools to do the job ? If not I'd advise you do what you can and get what you can't do done by a professional.
Engine oil I'd go with the gm stuff or a good fully synthetic 5/30 oil

GM's Dexos2 oil is very good quality indeed.
