This is how I did my handles and they came out well:

Key it with some 800 grit wet & dry
A few coats of plastic primer
Flat with 1200 wet & dry
Spray a few coats of colour
Flat again with 1200 wet & dry
Spray a few coats of lacquer
Let the lacquer harden for a few days then polish up with a cutting compound

Colour code it to the car mate.

Have a few pics in my garage if you want to have a look. Don't go Matt I have seen this in the flesh and it really looks odd to me on a black car. Just my opinion though.

    Cheers

Don't really see the point in cc as the car silver grill chrome. Seen a few cars with black grill and I did put wrap on the grill a while ago and liked it, so want to paint just unsure gloss or matt but I think gloss will look better

Ah sorry mate I thought you had a black vec. On silver matt would look nice. Im still a gloss man though and I would go that route.

Mind you someone else would probably say matt would be the best. Poeple's tastes differ all the time
