    confused Limp Home

My '04 cdti 120 Club keeps going in to limp home mode after I put my foot down full.
Sometimes it cuts out altogether and sometimes it will do no more than 30mph.
Under normal driving conditions it it fine but when you give it, say, more than 3/4 throttle it limps.

    Any suggestions?

When we had this it was the sensor in the air stream from the turbo into the air intake. Although the turbo is at the back of the engine bay, the sensor is near side of the rocker cover and not visible with the engine cover on. Follow the rubber discharge from the turbo all the way around and it connects to a cast tube, inside which is the sensor. Ours needed cleaning, but the problem recurrs annually.

I've since resolved a poor acceleration issue with a replacement to a spilt tube on the hydraulics located top and front right of the engine bay.

Cracked solder joint in the throttle body I would say as your car is a 2004 model or 3rd injector plug is goosed (there is an update/modified part which are blue. Old plugs are yellow). They are the only faults that would cause your car to shut down. Boost pipes would put the car into limp mode and an EGR valve jammed open would cause sluggish performance.

    Throttle Body Fix How2

Third Injector Loom fix if you fancy go
