Default Water in spare wheel well!

    Hi all,

does anyone know where there is a common point of water entry into the boot of a 5 door hatch? i have a mobile swimming pool in my spare wheel well!

I think it could be the seal on the roof ariel as the rubber is all perished but the roof lining is bone dry? checked all the boot seal but it looks ok...just wondered if anyone has had this before? and maybe give me a clue where to check..

    Thanks
    Andy

Yup almost definitly the Ariel rubber, very common problem. Either take the Ariel off and clean the rubber and reseal using some silicone or buy another Ariel base, as the rubbers are not available on their own. If you have a normal Ariel(non sat nav type one) apparently you can get a rubber of Ebay for VW's that will fit with a bit on manipulation. I went to the scrappys and took one off a Vec B that was in good condition.
