    Angry ****** speed cameras

got a notice of intended prosecution today for doing 85 in a 70 on m74 on my way down on saturday.

I really do give up. It was near carlisle and i remember seeing a van on a bridge ahead of me as i was overtaking but was back at 70 just before the bridge. i didnt think a camera could get you driving towards it.

Wouldnt mind but was going with the flow of traffic at a steady 75 and sped up to overtake.

i think i've had enough of motoring it sucks

Not good news m8. Unfortunately those bl**dy laser guns can get you from the front or back. Sods law, the one bit where you go a bit faster is the one where they have the mobile camera.

I think I may have been 'got' on Sunday. had a trip over to Keswick. Left Ullswater and was heading back, single carriageway that opened up into two lanes up a hill to facilitate a crawler lane. About six cars in front of me booted it to overtake a caravan. Me at the back, sat nav alarm goes off to warn of mobile speed camera, so I back off and as I round the bend, there is the van with the camera pointing out the back. I think I was doing about 66/67 so I am waiting with baited breath. The first car to go was a scooby and he must have been doing about 80 as he rounded the bend.

thing is the bit i was caught on or where i saw the van is about 4 lanes at least 3 on a straight bit of motorway. Fine i was in the wrong but really they even say to increase speed to safely overtake then drop back.

    sorry ranting over

Don't know mate. Some forces have different tolerence levels to others, we'll just have to wait and see. Graeme, I think I know where it was, was the road bending very gently and sweepingly for about a mile or so? To the right going Southbound. I remember coming back from a competition up the M6 and seeing a camera van on the bridge from about half a mile away, so I had plenty of time to slow down.

Wayne, if it ever takes more than 14 days from date of offence to receipt of NIP, then get yourself a solicitor and fight it. They only have 14 days to get it to you.

thats handy to know, i had a mate who got off on a technicality cos he asked if the laser had been calibrated that morning - the copper said yes(obviously ) so my mate told him he cant have checked his car over before leaving the yard cos he had a brake light out!!!!, they dropped the ticket
