    Default vectra c 1.9 cdti 120 total engine cut out

    hi guys ,got a problem with my veccy engine cutting out at speed usually on the motorway on way to work,have checked some of the threads and did have a split vaccuum hose but after renewing still same problem .checked with code reader but not showing any fault codes ,spanner warning light reset .thought it could be a problem with cruise control but has done it once whilst approacing a set of traffic lights.the problem is the engine just cuts out without warning ,but starts up again straight away.it dosn't do it every journey and never goes into limp mode.the car has been serviced including egr valve clean and new glowplugs its done 77k. any suggestions without a trip to the garage.

    When it cuts out does it slowly die out(fuel,jets problem) or cut off like someone flicked a switch(electrical fault) .......... when you said cutting out at speed thats when ya need the injectors working 100% at low speeds the car is getting the right fuel to keep it running, have a look at the injectors i remember hearing some folk talk about injector 3 wiring mod, but that was ages ago

    just cuts out spanner light comes along with battery light etc.Cleaned boost valve yesterday which was well clogged up dont know if this will make a difference

    get a can of injector cleaner into the fuel i use mine 1 every 4 month, first time i used it i floored it and black crap came out the back. and ma car never smokes at the back due to ma heavy right foot :P

    will try this m8 ,at the end of my 22mile trip to work (mostly dual carriage and motorway) my engine cut out at roundabout and a further 4 times going up to drive and in carpark,seems to be similar to when my cam sensor went on my vectra B petrol,had a look on threads seems to be confusion whether my car as one or is part of diesel pump,also had similar problems when alternator went but thats been renewed in last two years and battery seems fine

    Update! Have cleaned boost valve and added injector cleaner seems to have fixed problem ,can now sleep after worrying about those expensive parts to replace, a £4 bottle of redx seems to have solved it Many thanks to Vectra -c SRI from Glasgow.

    I also highly recommend regular injector cleaner in tank, had problems with my 1.4 16v Astra some years ago, vaux finally confirmed it was down to carbon build up on the day I was delivering it to a buyer, after light had come back on, but they never refunded me for a £200 coil pack they originally blamed. I'm using a product called BG244 diesel cleaner, which was highly recommended to me, however it's expensive at £20, but it's supposed to get everything clean, only gonna do it every 6 months at that price tho
