    Default Misfire problems

    First, let me say thanks in advance to all who read this and throw in their 2 pennys worth.
    This problem may go back about 6 - 8 months, when on the odd time when overtaking, it would have a small hicup/misfire for a fraction of a second then carry on accelerating ok. No lights or anything on dash.
    After some weeks I had the 'oil can' displayed after having one of these hicups/misfires, car still drove OK, and the 'oil can' disappeared after stopping the car and starting it again. This has gradually got worse with 'spanner' light coming on after these hicups. And about 2 months ago starting to go into limp mode. Turning the engine off and starting again clears the spanner. I have had it in at my local, where its serviced, they had P1131 and P1191 errors come up. The swirl flaps were cleaned along with its service at the time. It seemed ok at first, but a couple of day later it hicuped a few times cruising at 70 on the Mway, then limp moded. About a week later it was starting to go into limp at 65. After the local saying they could not read some codes fully, I took it in to Vx to have a code reading. This threw up;
    Cylinder 3 misfire detected, 01 P0303.
    Fuel pressure system malfunction, 52 P1191.
    Random misfire detected, 4 P0300

    They said it needed a new coil pack and spark plugs, that would have cost just shy of £300. I had this done at my local though for about half this price. They also topped up the oil that was looking a bit low on the dip stick. After driving off the car was misfiring on acceleration, then went into limp without any lights. I turned round and back to local garage again. Coil looked ok, but spark plugs were black, carboned up. He cleaned the plugs and took about 3/4 litre of oil out. The dip stick is a bit bent in places, and we think therfore oil level more than should have been. The car was now better than before, but but still misfires now and again on acceleration, and sometimes when accelerating away from a roundabout.

    So the misfire problem is still there when under load, revs freely when stationary. I fitted a pressure regulator myself about 5 weeks ago. The fuel pump is only about 25k+ miles young, and new coil pack & plugs. I had also noticed a couple of weeks ago what looks like emmulsified oil in the pipe that comes from the side of the rocker cover to what looks like a round plastic seperater before going into (or what I think is)the intake manifold behind the egr? valve.
    Is this a problem that will go if I take even more oil out, or is there more to this problem we are missing. Would a bit too much oil cause all the problems I've had or just some of them. Please help. Thanks for reading
