Default Look what ive been doing today!

Hi all, hope eveyones had a very merry (and very drunk) xmas this year - i know i did!

So anyway ive been quite busy recently with work and getting ready for xmas, which left the veccy looking quite neglected im ashamed to say.
this is how it looked earlier.....

So decided to give the vec a full detail, which started with just a quick wash today and will continue over the next few days and ill post a few pics up on here of how its going. So to start with i broke out the pressure washer and rinsed all the dirt off.....

and a half and half shot of one of the wheels....

Once that was done i could get some shampoo on it, but when i went to halfords earlier for some megs gold class and a clay bar, they didnt hav any gold class left - so i decided to give this stuff a try. Turtle wax performance car wash...

So i put some in the soap container that attaches to the end of the pressure cleaner and covered the car in suds

This was left on for 5 minutes while i went to fill 2 buckets with warm water and put some shampoo in one. then washer the whole car with a wash mitt.

Then the wheels got a good clean using a wheel brush and some pro alloy wheel acid, diluted 1:10 with warm water.

Then the whole car was rinsed with an open hose, dried off and parked up until tomorrow.

So thats as far as i got today as it got too dark and cold to work outside!

    Tomorrows jobs are
    - clay
    - polish
    - seal
    - wax
    - wax again
    - polish glass inside and outside
    - dress tyres

Then since im back at work on thursday the interior will have tp wait until saturday afternoon!

Excuse the rubbish pics, thay were taken with my V3i which has a naff camera.

Thanks for reading guys and any critisism good or bad appriciated
    cheers, Matt.

Looks good so far Matt. Even better once you've done the rest of it. Just gave mine polish, seal and winter wax and it's looking all the better for it!

LOL - i was wondering if anyone would say something about that picture, but you are right it does look like a light sabre! like i said though my fone cam is rubbish.

Duncan - i bet you car is looking gleaming now, ultra blue always does when its polished and waxed up. what do you use on it?

for polish i use either AG SRP or Megs Stage 2 followed by Megs #21 followed by 2 coats od pinnacle souveran wax. makes mine come up a treat!

Jamie - sounds like you deserve a beer or 2 matey! whats the weather like where you are?

we've still got a hosepipe ban down hear, so washing the car means about 15-20 buckets

My sporting interests means that I drive my car on to fields and the inner wheel arches get very muddy.

Q can you use any car shampoo product through a pressure washer ? as mine only takes cold water I wouldn't have thought it would sudd much !

I'm glad to see mines not the only one to get this bad as Mel's got a horse & drives up a muddy track 4 times a day, once to get into the farm & once to get out two times a day Mind you Matt ew can still read your number plate
I spend a good few minutes of jet wash time attacking inside the wheel arches & under the sills!!!

I remember once she came to pick me up one day in the GTE. It was covered & she'd managed to get mud splatter over the roof & down the rear windscreen!!!
