Fuel Pump

Hi,

I've just ordered a new Continental fuel pump for my Vectra Elite 2.2 Direct. Are they easy to fit and is there any special equipment needed to check the vehicle once the pump is fitted? I know that the pump has to be depressurized before commencing work on the fuel system & engine cold, just to be safe.

The reason that I want to change the pump is because having just had a fuel pressure regulator fitted, I noticed that the fuel pump on my car is the Siemens brand and I've read a lot of bad news about these.

I managed to fit the new Continental fuel pump today without any problems whatsoever. No car/spanner light when I fired her up too. Well chuffed!!

not so hard to do is it... I uprated mine when i changed it... Did not see this thread though as its in the chat section for some reason and i don't normally go in here..

Hi Ste. Yes I've seen the Watchdog clip online previous to me fitting the new Continental pump. I have also just had a new fuel pressure regulator fitted as well.
