    Default Key fob Broke!

Hey all has anyone else had problems with their keyfob? i have a 04 1.9cdti n have spent the last 6 months setting the alarm off everytime i wanna get into the car!! It is now driving me mad and have no idea how to fix it. I took it to get the battery changed in hickleys and a piece of plastic fell out as he was changing the battery. Obv found out then that it wasnt the battery any ideas that isnt gonna cost a fortune?? Cheers x

Have you got the circuit board inside all intact?

If so i purchased this a few days ago, swopped the circuit board over, got key cut for £10 local key cutter/ shoe repair place.

    Works a treat.

Put the key in the ignition and start the car. The alarm will stop.

Unless its the transponder that fell out....

As a temp measure you can lock the car without setting the alarm by reaching in through one of the other doors and pressing the lock button on the door panel and then exiting out the door you reached in through. Alternately open drivers window, reach in and press the lock button on the panel, then press the window button and remove arm ASAP. Note however the deadlocks won't be set.

Transponder chip is part of the PCB on the Vec-C fobs.

The chip is built into the circuit board on Vec C cars. Just buy said key from ebay and swop the circuit board over, get key cut, Bobs your uncle.

Yes. Thats the whole point of it. You upgrade your key to a flip one. You cant buy the older type any more from VX. Mine was the older type too, just buy that one and swop the circuit board over. Get Key cut, then you have a flip key.
