vectra 2005 cdti 120 BIG issue

so i got to the car the other day turned the key absolutely nothing there not even the starter motor turning not nothing had only been left 24 hours so was very annoying got the car recovered and taken to the garage.

anyway a day later the garage phones up you need a new started motor they said £180 for parts plus fitting anyway said yea yea get on with it

24 hours after that they said theres a big problem with your wiring the earth(ground) for your starter motor is live your going to need an auto electrification at this point im thinking $$$$$$$$ can do with out this

now i cant remember exactly what the next phone call was but it went something like you need a wire taking from your ignition to your alternator and there was something wrong with the solnaiod on my alternator

im very angry as i have only ownded the car for 14 days

anyone had anything similar or know what's going off?

Ive had something that sounded like the start of your problem turned the key and nothing no clicking nothing so got the AA out he checked everything and it was my battery was dead so he jump started it and its been fine ever since but i did add the extra earth that comes from the drivers side strut to the engine.
