    Default Worse job ever ?.......

After all other attempts to find and fix my awfull vibration issue, i finally bit the bullet and decided to change the DMF and clutch.
It is mentioned by others here that this is not a job to be done on your driveway. TBH there right, it was the worse job i've ever attempted....but it's done.
The old DMF was shot to bits and both sections could be moved by hand independantly. The clutch plate had worn unevenly and the cover had to be cut off as 4 out of 6 bolts had been rounded of by the monkey who last changed it...Also when the gearbox was seperated from the engine the CSC flew apart under its own tension.
If anybody else considers doing this job at home, it is possible. BUT i would also suggest selling an organ, doing overtime or even something more drastic, and giving it to a mechanic with a lift and the right facillities cos it aint fun.... Also check the weather forcast before you start, laying under a gearbox grunting with rain down your @8&$ing neck just adds to the woes........

Thanks for that didn't anticipate that it would be... i've done stuff like this before, but it was on a mini...TBH there was more room to move on the mini, had the previous ?mechanic? not mauled the old bolts the job might have been easier, but i had to remove the GB to get enough clearance to swing a grinder. But heh, now out of wet clothes, showered and fed, cold beer in hand and job now a distant memory.......
