    Default Air con problem

    I went to get air con recharged today and lad says that the compressor is not pulling in the gas Can anyone help. He says it could be a pressure switch.

    What exactly do you mean by that ?

    The procedure for re-gassing a/c Is to start with recovering the old gas (if there is any in the system) and oil, then the machine will pull and hold a vacuum (for as long as its been preset normally 10 mins)
    Once that is done and and the a/c system is fine (still holding vacuum) you reload the system with new oil and gas.

    Once the system is gassed and the compressor is running one a/c pipe should be warm/hot and the other should be cold/frosty, if after regassing the compressor doesn't kick in then there may well be a fault with the pressure switch or another componant in the a/c system

    I agree with above post,also i would be using somebody who knows what they are doing--go for an independant car- air-con guy in your area,the one i used was spot on.don't use the likes of kiil-fit/ shagfords etc,they are hopeless----Dave

    K I'll got to a auto garage. And when I switch the air con on the compressed doesn't click on.

    Here is his number-07890656586 and his name is Richard. Think he live's in Gateshead-cracking guy and honest too,i got mine repaired under warranty but he pointed me in the right direction. If the repair was not under warranty i would certainly of used him-knows what he is doing ----hope he can help----Dave
