    Default cdti no backbox

    As above, has anyone got a straight pipe instead of a backbox? Does it affect mot? Cheers

    i think you talking about a mufflerectomy, i know a few skoda's and vw's that have got it done im not sure on the legalities of this thought

    no backbox's on my car, only centre section and pre-cat, noise is not an issue, emisions not an issue, as long as it looks neat (not just back box fell of and left) mot will not be an issue

    also plasma has no boxes on his vec and makes a nice sound . no problems with mot either .

    the vectra has gone , but not far away so ill still see it form time to time

    his dont make a nice sound khalid, his sounds chuffin awsome, but his is a straight through from turbo back isnt it ??

    ive got straight pipe from turbo and it just passed mot and it sounds awesome, but looks standard because ive welded the standard tip back on so no one thinks any diffrerent untill they hear it dump

    Well I just went to an exhaust place in Aylesbury and the guy quoted me £260 for a system from the front flexi pipe back with no boxes or silencer. Is this a reasonable price?

    That sounds like a good price, i just gonna smash my cat's out i dont mind if its dented.. failing that, if the pipes not that bad, ill just cut it out and sleve a bit in there.
