    Default Runs like a dream......

Well after the DPF issues last week I was getting a bit fed up - but now its been taken out the car is running like a dream now.
Its smoother, more economical and a lot quieter. All I've done is clean the EGR out (coked solid!!) cleaned the throttle body and cleaned the boost sensor and modded the Swirl valves and it runs like a new motor.
I'd recommend anyone with the CDTI unit to spend an hour or 2 doing these simple clean up jobs and you will be amazed at the results!!

All it cost me was a can of carb cleaner and a toothbrush.... well it was the Mrs toothbrush actually!!
Theres a fiddly little blighter of a part under the slam panel that gets clogged up - vacuum supply with a tiny little filter. Whip it off, clean it up and you'll be amazed at what happens. Plus my swirl valve mod is working an absolute treat!!

My DPF was seriously clogged up. The back pressure actually was forcing exhaust fumes out of the flexipipe making it hiss it was that bad. Ran like a complete dog event though you could tell it was still boosting. Took off DPF, drilled a few 10mm holes with a long bit and its running like a charm now. Will probably have to do ongoing maintainance on the egr, boost sensor and boost valve but sure that's no biggie.
