Thinking of getting the wife a Zafira.

As title, thinking of an 1.8 design or Sri. Looking at this petrol engine due to not wanting the problems I had with my Vectra 1.9 diesel. Is this the best compromise?

I do motorway journeys all the time so 1.9 cdti suits me as it has dpf I have Sri with full leather AFL etc 1.8 is good if she does a lot of town driving but will be heavy in fuel

I have just got a zafira 1.9 150 and its brilliant, i do a lot of running around but every weekend give it a good blast down the motorway, I was going to get a petrol but i had a hire one last year and it ate the fuel.

All depends on mileage she does etc but I would go for 1.9 cdti even a 120 bhp

As said above if you or your wife are able to give it ablast down the motorway at least once a fortnight (3000rpm +) for at least 15-20 miles get the diesel if not get the petrol. Good car but watch for rust near the rear arches.

That's the colour and spec we would like. Shame we got a focus to sell or I would be knocking on ya door for a look.

Now thinking of a diesel Zafira again but still trying to avoid the 150 16v engine. Is the 120 8v more reliable with less common faults. Also, what year did the common manifold problem get solved with them?
