    Default p1909 Particulate filter pressure sensor pressure not plausible with barometric pressure

    as above, got this error

    ive removed the 2 hoses from the dpf no blockages or splits

    what is the sensor called where the 2 pipes go to?

    ive copied this is the sensor in the list?

    "Differential Pressure Diesel Particulate Filter" in your list. This sensor measures the difference in pressure before and after the DPF and expects to see a greater pressure before the DPF due to the restriction the filter causes. From what your readings say, the pressure before the DPF is reading 96kPa but 98kPa at barometric pressure, i.e. after the DPF, and so is implausable. So, chances are your differential pressure sensor isn't working correctly or you have a leak in your pre-DPF hose.

    well theres no leaks on the hoses as ive had them off and checked

    so a new sensor?

    Not sure what car you have, but on the Vectra 1.9cdti 120 (Estate, hence DPF), the differential pressure sensor is mounted on the bulkhead - to the right of the fuel filter as you look in from the front. It's a small black box with 2 hoses (the pre and post DPF hoses) attached to the underside. If you have a different car, just follow the hoses back from the DPF itself.
    Anyway, you can't get more pressure after than before the DPF. You say you've checked the hoses - are the metal pipes that the hoses connect to on the DPF itself clear? Also, the DPF hoses connect to solid pipes and back to hoses again and then to the sensor (at least on the Vectra Est.) and have you checked all of those?
    Lastly, try disconnecting the post-DPF hose from the sensor, temporarily. This means you are definitely getting atmospheric pressure to this side of the sensor. If the pre-DPF is still reading lower, then the sensor sounds like it needs replacing.

    this bit seems wrong to me...

    if you've regen'd only 55km ago i'd expect the pressure to be about 4kpa... when my regen is complete it reads -2kpa and then gradually increases until the next regen, if it gets too high it flags up a fault code.

    Aah, ok, have I misunderstood the numbers Plasma? Is the differential pressure sensor reading the actual differential across the sensor, rather than an absolute measurement - i.e. the pre-DPF pressure is 96kPa above that of the post-DPF? Why would this come up as "implausable" - sounds plausibly blocked!

    i'll see if i can pull the readings from mine tomorrow as a comparision, mine tried a regen the other day buy had to cancel it halfway through..

    Thinking about it, how does yours read -2kPa Plasma? This sounds wrong too as you should have more pressure pre-DPF, unless it's an accepted error in the DPF sensor. Maybe Swedge's reader is reading absolute pressure after all, and his is reading -2kPa (96-98kPa), but chucking up an error.
    Hmm, I must get a reader on mine!

    Yeah I noticed it said my last regen was 55km ago I drove 88 miles back from where I bout the car do going by the 55k it would have done it while driving back but it's still at 100%

    I have a new sensor on its way to me I'll try disconnecting the post pipe and get more readings, I do have some live date in a .csv file if someone wants a look I can email you it

    Sorry to sidetrack - but I have often wondered what happens if you have to turn your engine off while it is mid regen or if you are travelling on a fast road and it starts a regen and then you drive onto minor roads at a much slower speed/engine revs
