    Default Headlight fronts

Hello again guys, subtle mods well under way now, just had an idea instead of spending out around £150 on sri style black headlights, does anyone know if the fronts of facelift headlights come off? So that i can key up the chrome stuff and give them a lick of black with a rattley can?

Cheers, will be putting some pics up soon of the small bits ive done

Done a similar mod on mk4 astra headlights, I put them in the oven for 10 minutes at around 100 degrees C, then gentle worked my round the lens with a small flat blade screw driver prising them apart, be careful not to over heat the plastic or you'll just end up bending things...

This HOW 2 advocates using a Dremel to open them up, I think I'll give the oven bake a go first!

I have a spare pair of headlights that need refurbing, cutting compound etc on the outer to get rid of the scratches etc, blacken up the surrounds on the inner and some clear lacquer with a touch of black paint in to tint them a little on the inside of the lens. It's a job for this winter but I'll probably swap them out at MOT time! I have a load of spraying to do on my bike and the engine bay covers etc, this is just another job that I can do at the same time.
