Unhappy Fans On All The Time!!!!

    Hi Folks!
The other day i posted a thread for help with a problem i was experiencing with my 52 plate GSI. The temp guage was'nt moving for ages (1/2 hour) and then it starts to move but goes up and down. Although the heaters seemed to be getting warm?? Now then, the latest problem is i got into the car today and noticed when i started the engine both fans came on. I took the car out for a 10 mile run and on my return both fans were still on. I then left the car for 7 hours started it up and both fans came on again from cold!!! I then set off again and took the car on another run including down the motorway, did about 15 miles and the fans never went off. the heaters are now not getting very warm at all!! I notice that when i turn it off the main fan stops but the second fan keeps running for a couple of mins then turns itself off, as if the car has been running for ages in hot weather!
Any ideas, or have i bought a bag of knackers!!!!
PS do you think if i disconnected the battery it may correct itself or maybe it could be down to a faulty thermostat.

    Greg.

either that or a failed fan temp sensor switch.. screws in the side of the radiator..

EDIT:.. just a thought, i wonder if the two are both factors of the cooling control module failing???..

Do the 3.2s self vent, as it might be an air lock in the radiator..

    Benny!!
Cheers mate. Did a battery reset and everything is ok now, even cleared my spanner light off the dash! Now all i have got to do is get the temp guage thing sorted. Thinking this is a dodgy thermostat more and more now though as warmed the car up today in the garage and guage went up as normal, then took it out for a run and when the car was on the move the guage dropped off. Also turned air con off and noticed heaters were not very warm.

    well, thats a result then.....

be warned thou that changing the thermostat is still an involved job on the V6..quite a bit of deep digging will be needed..
