What are common faults on a 2.2 SRi Direct Automatic....

As above, ive got a 2.2 Direct Automatic, i bought it with a "gearbox fault"

It does move under its own steam, as in but it dont feel like theres loads of power there... and you proper have to rev it as such.. but in reverse its fine!

Anyone have a clue what it could be??

I know there is a common fault on automatic vectra c's ( not sure if this includes your engine size ) where the gearbox oil cooler seals fail ( inside the radiator) and coolant gets into the gearbox oil , this usually kills the box.

That fault was corrected on the boxes on late 2004 cars iirc high pressure fuel pumps are weak fuel pressure regs are a prob an the hydraulic adjuster on the chain wares and sticks causing chain rattle possible slip jump or snap

cheers guys, the engine runs spot on with no rattles etc... Just when you put in drive... it feels like it dont want to go no were.. unless you put your foot down, like your in limp mode.

Give it a good service mate a decent remap will help alot plus the gears changes are so much better and it doesn't go up and down the box like they normally do 3.4.5.4.5.4.5 lol

Does a remap help smooth out auto gearchanges? Which remap would you recommend?

If the autobox is faulty, then the car/spanner light should be on if a fault code is present.

First thing I'd do is an autobox oil change to see if it fixes the problem.

I believe that light is on... as it still driver surly cant be that much of a issue?? as it not stopped completely..

In that case, get the fault code(s) read out.

Takes all the hassle out of guessing.

It come up on the CID that brake switch thing error.... There is a car with spanner on it though.. i put it in + & - and it pulls away alot better to be fair.
