    Default temp gauge up n down

    one min its normal then cold doesent go over half much car runs mint,faulty sensor? im new to vecs so lil help be great...cheers

    If its a diesel its probably the thermostat as its a common problem

    Yes you can drive it , longer term its not good as the car will never warm up leading to increased wear.

    Mpg may drop about 5-10%

    Well worth doing thermostats can be bought on ensuite for the cdti for around £40, although can be a pain on the 1.9 (120)

    its your thermostat its faulty

    as mentioned above this uses more fuel

    buy a original thermostat from vauxhall as well
    the classic sign of a faulty temperature gauge is

    it sits at 0 for ages, moves up to 80 then drops back to 0 again



    diesel} takes around 6 miles to get to 86 -87 and the needle stays there

    { petrol} takes around 3 miles to get to 87-89 and the needle stays there

    depending on weather and speed doing

    if you turn your heater on and the needle falls back to 70 to 75 its broke

    My cold heater is warmish is this why? Also had a blown brake light but it wont work and bulbs fine do I need the fault cleared 1st? Any help cheers

    when you replace the thermostat the heater gets hotter in the cabin


    ref the bulb clean the contacts
