    Default 1.9 CDTi, 3.0 V6 CDTi or 2.0 Turbo?

Looking for people opinions on the above 3 engines.

I'm looking at buying a Vectra C or Signum in the very near future to replace my Vec B Estate, but not sure on what engine to go for? So looking to get people opinions on the above 3, what are they like to live with, are they easy to work on, is the MPG reasonable?

Vehicle : Mk1 renault scenic... I know I know but it drives

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

    Year : 2003

    Default

3.0 cdti lovely motorway cruiser get about 42 on motorway an 31 around town.

Not so easy to work. As everything is buried deep. Also parts a quite expensive.
And if your not gonna do your own work trying to find a garage that understands the engine could be hard

    Vehicle : Insignia Tourer

    Engine : 2.0 CDTI (160ps)

2.0T petrol is a Saab engine, absolutely bullet proof as long as it's serviced well. Everything is easy to get at when working on it. I get around 25mpg round town and around 38mpg on a motorway cruise with a stage 2 remap. 175bhp in standard form can be re-mapped easily to 215-220bhp with not much else done to it and WAYYYYY beyond that if you don't mind spending some money.

The 1.9 Diesel is a good engine, but has a lot of common problems (EGR, inlet manifold, swirl flaps etc etc etc) but generally all easily sorted if they go (although a couple of them are expensive to fix), pretty powerful engine in standard trim (150bhp) can easily be re-mapped to close to 200bhp with little extra work and reliable as a rule and gives a lot better mileage than the 2.0T petrol.

i am biased of course and would have to recommend the 2.0T as being the best of those options..

The 1.9CDTI faults can be fixed before they go, so that they do not occur.
MPG around town could be 40-45mpg if you drive carefully and on the motorway you should not get under 50mph unless you are avoiding the police.
A simple remap will give more than ample torque to pull an oil tanker around and brings no further reliability issues.
