I would not drive a car without confirming all the air is out of the system. By removing the hose, you are allowing air to travel up the system, all it takes is a bend to cause an air lock. for the sake of pressing the brake pedal a couple of times, its not worth risking.

When you remove the flexi as it's clamped air will enter the flexi a small amount & when you fit the caliper ir is inside the caliper.

By opening the bleed nipple if you sit there and watch you will start to see bubbles coming eventually if your hearing is spot on you just might hear the air coming out, eventually the fluid starts dripping out nip it up job done.

Unless you have had various pipes off and replaced other calipers then i would do a full bleed but not for just the one caliper. But it's up to you.

I had to "crack" the system. So I changed all the fliud. Might as well if you are doing a bleed anyway, just takes a bit longer. But you know you have clean fluid in then.

That's what i thought until I bought some from the dealer last week and asked if they were the right part because the ones i took off were copper, but he confirmed that it was the right part number and that they were aluminium. i even checked on the parts catalogue when i got back to fit them and it all checked correct.
