I planned to do this before I drove up to the NE, but I only picked up the Collinite 476s wax on my way up - and here's what the car looked like on my arrival on Tuesday.....
Was all ready to give the car a damn good clean on the Wednesday until I woke up that morning and it was frostier than a frosty thing in Frostyville! - as was Thursday.
The weather broke a bit on Friday so off I went. Gave it a pressure wash down to shift all the stuck on salt and grime, and then the usual two bucket wash with mitt.
Followed this with a coat of Megs Deep Crystal System Polish, then a coat of Megs #21 sealer. First time I've used this (the sealer) and it was a sample that Bryan (blr123) kindly sent me. All I can say is Wow!, what a difference. You can see the effect it has as you apply it and buff it off - gives the paint just that extra zing, especially on a dark car like mine.
The last thing was a good coat of Collinite 476s wax to give it it's winter protection coat. I kept the tin in an airing cupboard overnight and this certainly made it easier to apply it due to being softer.
The difference with this wax on really noticeable. I did a bit of driving around the following day and the car ended up a bit filthy again. I popped into a jetwash and just gave it a quick hot shampoo and rinse and the muck just dropped off! Brill! Should certainly last longer than the Megs Carnuba was I was using.
I'll try and get another coat of the wax on soon so that's it's really well protected and that will see me right through winter - and beyond.
I know there are umpteen product combinations etc. out there, but I'm very impressed in particular with the Megs #21 and the Collinite 476s.
