    Default Hunter Wheel Alignment

Hi all, I bought a 2.8t Elite a couple of weeks back to replace my 2.2direct SRi, and I'm taking it to a local tyre place this afternoon to get a Hunter wheel alignment done (I got my SRi done there and was very happy with the place).

My problem is, that I'm not sure if this elite has got the standard elite suspension, or the SRi suspension, as I've read in some places that if it has the 18" alloys and VXR style pack one(?) that it will have the SRi lowered suspension? It's a 58 plate if that makes any difference.

I'm hoping the garage will be able to tell what suspension it's got, but I'd rather know myself in advance. I've attached a pic, although it's not great, hopefully someone will know one way or the other!

Also, it's definately got a different front and rear bumpers and spoilers and side skirts than my SRi.

    Thanks in advance

it looks like it has the xp pack fitted from factory , so may well have been lowered . mine is an elite , but i did lower mine and they did the alignment as a sport model . not had any problems with it .

the vectra has gone , but not far away so ill still see it form time to time

Thanks. Do you reckon if it hasn't been lowered that if they do it as sport model it'll cause problems? does 15mm really make that much of a difference? :|

I'd say that's already got the sports suspension, my Elite Xp came with standard elite alloys & springs, although i have since replaced the suspension.

A quick visit to any dealership wil confirm which suspension has been fitted at factory
Equally, if you can still read the original part labels on either front suspension then that will make the job easier (even the last three digits)

would not know if it would make a difference , does it feel tight when you drive , i ask as my elite was a bit spongy around bends , until i upgraded the shocks/springs .

It feels tighter than my old SRi, but that could be because it's a 58 plate with 45k rather than an 06 with 110k? It's only the second car I've ever owned (only been driving 3 years) so it's hard to tell what it should drive like!!!

Get a close up pic of the front and rear gaps between wheels and arches. From that pic it looks like sri or possibly lower, but hard to tell on a black car with black tyres, from a distance

Ok here's a shot of one of the front wheels/arches. Hopefully it'll help solve the mystery! Thanks.
