    confused CDTi-150 Flat Spot @ 1800rpm

My 57-plate Signum CDTi-150 has developed a flat spot around 1500-1800rpm. It's lasts approx half a second then it drives perfectly. The car has done 31k miles with fsh.

I've read threads on here regarding the flat-spot being a known common problem on the CDTi's. I've checked the swirl bar and that's fully attached and fine. I've checked the injector wiring and the car already has the factory-fit blue multiplugs (opposed to the yellow ones). I've checked the vacuum hoses and they're all in good condition with no splits. I've changed the fuel filter and regularly check the fuel filter housing tap for water but that's fine. The DPF does its regen approx every 600miles without issue, and I've cleaned the EGR (but not the EGR solenoid). I've got no engine management lights or warnings, and I'm not noticing any loss of mpg etc.

My next plan is to disconnect the EGR lead and take it for a spin - see what happens etc. Any ideas what else I could do?? Thanks.

rolleyes Have I solved my own problem??

I think I might have answered my own question here! I've just taken the car for a quick spin and it was still hesitant with the usual flat spot around 1500-1800rpm. I then disconnected the EGR multiplug lead and took it for another spin. It seems to have solved the flat-spot problem which would suggest that the EGR and/or solenoid is FUBAR'd. I was expecting the engine management light to come on when the EGR was unplugged, but it didn't. Does that mean I can continue driving without the EGR being plugged in until I get a new EGR in the next few days, or will it cause further problems?

Doesn't that cause any damage (ie to the DPF etc) or cause the engine management light to come on?

I think it does eventually, but only if you have a DPF fitted, vec c Estates or Signums only...
