    Default Virgins Double Speed Upgrade

    Anyone else notice that they have changed the time scales for this? Ok I shouldn't be crying about it as its free, but right from the time they advertised that this was happening(January) the time scale for my area was July this year, noticed today its now Between October and December. FFS Richard get yer finger oot!!!!

    My upgrade was done months ago from 50mb to 100mb and i only notice the difference now and then and my modem/router reboots a lot now and i lose connection a lot as well.

    Yup same as above

    Ours was due July and now all complete but still bottoms out at peek times and as Mark says hardly notice the speed increase and modem seems to be struggling :s

    I was scheduled to have it done round now (late July) I rang up to complain about my broadband been too slow at peak times, I was on 50MB but only getting 15 - 20 so they just doubled it to 100MB there and then for no extra cost

    Result!

    Are they upgrading your router/hub too?

    i was supposed to get mine doubled like everybody else, not sure when but nothing has happened by now, router went crap for while and needed rebooting alot then settled down.. Still on same speed and they still put the prices up so it is not going to be the free upgrade the dripped on about on the TV. I am half tempted to complain to BBC Watchdog to get to give them the hard time i think they deserve..

    tbh Nige we've been with Virgin since they took over Telewest, 512kb connection back then and im paying less now with a 10meg connection so really cant complain to much. The thing that irks me is places like Japan had a 100meg connection about 7 years ago, they were paying what we were for a 1 meg connection.

    in the UK we seem to accept that poor service is part of the course and nothing to be annoyed about... However I take exception to poor service and broken promises and have no problem in speaking up and will readily take the issue up at higher levels.

    Writing complaint letters is something i have done on a number of occasions and will continue to do.. I do not feel i get a good service from VM and have had cause to complain to them a few times in the past.. I won't get on my high horse about it here, i will contact them to get satisfaction....
