    Question Uprated Suspension

I believe my suspension to be less than health, as it has been making horrible noises for about a year and people have started to comment on the ride.

So I intend firstly to have a go a Vx as always and then get some uprated and slightly lowered suspension (springs and shocks) fitted.

What do people recomend, I have looked on the new Vx parts web site associated with Vectra-C recently and they have some which seem reasonable in price and drop the ride by 30mm?

There's a group buy on Bilstein shox at http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16192 as you're not the only Vec C owner to suffer from that problem.

Someone on here said recently (may have been 3.2GSi) that regardless which dampers you buy, they only last the same length of time...

Why not go for SRi or VXR dampers with some better springs???

    Just a thought...

I know that the Vec eats rear shox, but if the dampers move less due to their stiffness and are better quality i.e. are less prone to leaking, then I would assume that they last longer, although I was quoted £200 for Bilstien rears delivered and they're easy to change if they go again.

That's about the right price, although the group buy would take that down to £425 or £399 depending on the head count.

yep, well nearly what i said.. what i meant is that they seem to last the same lenght of time when fitted to the vehicle..i'd just fit the shortend VX shocks as fitted to the SRi and GSi..coupled with the lowered and uprated springs it radically transforms the handling..

What do you think the chances are of getting Vx to fork for new suspension on a less than two year old car?
