confused Help please needed with my 1.9cdti Christmas tree dash

    hello there

    i have recently purchased a 2004 (54) vectra 1.9cdti its got 115k with fsh

i bought the car on the 21st (saturday) by sunday night it was in the crawler lane of the motorway no passing 3,000rpm

since then the light (car with a spanner through) is my new best friend and keeps coming on

in a morning 2 clicks of the key brings the light up witch goes off once the ignition is turned on and does not come back on untill the car has been driven for about 30 minutes i dont notice any performance changes untill i get to the bypass as soon as the car goes 70 80 bam limp mode appears car goes like a snail as soon as i have done 8 miles like that i come off the bypass and the car say setting off at traffic lights leave a fair amount of smoke not loads but enough to see in the mirror and think that doesn't look right upon pulling up i can smell a hot burning smell like burning oil,

i had my friend plug it in on his machine it came up as "boost pressure voltage" and "throttle voltage"

i do have my own diagnostics scanner (just a cheep ebay £60 job) but strangely wouldn't read the code "no faults detected"

its a pain with only owning the car for less than a week and it being like this hoping someone might shine a light for me as from threads i have been reading some of you know your stuff

before anyone replys saying "use the search" i have searched this 10 other and all of Google before writing this

hope someone can give me a pointer

There's a 'HOW 2' for the throttle body repair & clean, DO the repair even if the solder joints look good cos more than likely they'll be naf!, You may also have oil in the circuit board area so its a job worth doing!, Its typical for the throttle body to play up when the engine gets warm & it sounds yours is similar.

also after cleaning the egr is it worth while blanking it with a platw with a 9mm hole in it? or is it best just to let it do its own thing?
