    Default 1.9 cdti 07

hi guys. I live in ireland i went to wales 8 wees ago and bought a 07 CDTI vectra with 90000 miles full service history.my problems began when i got it back to cork.it started missing/skipping a beat. my wife took it to the local garage and the diagnostic machine said it had a miss firing injector but they couldnt do it for me.i took it to a injector specialist and he took the 4 out and tested them to find 2 dodgy ones.So he refurbished the 2 and he said the 4 were like new.On the day he rang me to pick the car up (monday 23rd)he pointed out a new noise to me saying it was flywheel/clutch.It was a rattly/clanging kind of noise that went when the clutch was pressed and a kind of crunching/grinding noise at the "biting".I took the car home to find its still missing.im getting new fly wheel/clutch conversion done on it today.im wondering could it be my clutch issue thats making the car skip.car has been on 2 diagnostic computers since getting injectors done and there are no faults showing.sorry for this long winded post.I Hope someone can help.kind regards peter. ps ive spent 1200 by the end of the day on this car and only have it 8 weeks, the garage in wales washed his hands of it and refuses to pay for any cost,

Hi mate, would have thought due to the distances involved a well worded solicitors letter to the garage who sold you the car would be well worth it at this stage. Car should be fit for purpose which it clearly isn't and should be free from faults (other than those pointed out to you at time of sale). Thats as I understand it - am sure someone will correct me soon enough if I am wrong! Hope you get it sorted.

Hi Ruffus2. I too live in Ireland and have had to change the flywheel/clutch. The symptoms you describe unfortunately point to the same issues I had. It cost me 940 euro to rectify. If you do have to replace the flywheel/clutch, get on to ebay and buy the part in the UK. The local car parts place here were trying to charge in excess of 1000 euro for a dual mass flywheel. Got it in UK for around 400 delivered to the door. Hopefully it wont be flywheel but looks like it. My car made a weird noise when the flywheel was nearly shod and it sounded like it was running crap. Sorry bout the poor terminology but I would think your car will be A1 when you get it back.

hi thanks for the reply.ye im getting it done for 800 all in.I dont think he is putting in a dual mass plate tho. I Think its back to the old type flywheel and clutch and some sort of conversion kit.did your car keep what feels like miss firing when your flywheel was on its way out too.im not sure whether the two thing are related or not.i suppose ill find out tomorrow when i get it back. i also asked him to clean the erg valve and check hoses for cracks/splits.

Consensus is that you DO NOT put a solid flywheel in place of the dual mass. Do a bit of searching on the topic.
