I'm not new at the forum but it is the first time I post.
I have a Vectra 1.9 CDTI 150bhp that now is giving me a headache.
When I bought it 37000km as a service vehicle from a dealer I found an annoying huge juddering at around 1750rpm. I only felt it up hill on higher gears when revs took a little while to move. If it passed fast through those rpm I didn't felt it.
The dealer said they replaced the air conditioning unit by saying it was not moving freely. I do think the car was only there sitting for a week and they did nothing.
I ignored that issue and learn to live with it.
Now I'm having an issue that is really bothering me. I read many post through the forum but I don't see anything similar.
The car is used mainly from my wife and she complained the car had a loss of power. I was testing it and felt no power until 3500rpm where the turbo kicked with power.
I went to see a friend that connected the computer to ECU and he tested all components, like EGR solenoid, swirl bar, MAF, etc. No issues found. He advised me to do a long trip because it could be the turbo flaps full of carb.
I went on vacations and did around 400km(~250miles) on a trip to south of Portugal. Now it is better and not doing so bad below 3500rpm but it is still noticeable the boost before and after 3500rpm.
It is like this:
On cold start the 2nd it does great and pulls like a train!
After that 1st time the 2nd gear at 2000rpm has the same boost as 3rd and it starts to show 2 flat spots. One at 1800 and other at 2200rpm. Very strange...
These flat spots are felt good in 1st and 2nd and diminishes while moving on with the gears. I don't feel so much the loss of power on 3rd and so on as on 1st and 2nd.
Next week I will be cleaning boost control solenoid, boost sensor and EGR.
Do you have any idea what maybe happening? Can this be a carbed turbo?
thanks in advance for your comments.
